In 2009, the United States imports more than $4 worth of goods from China for every $1 of goods that it exports to China.

U.S. leading weapons exporter in 2008:

U.S. weapons agreements: $37.8 billion or 68.4 percent of all global weapons business
Italy was second with $3.7 billion, Russia third with $3.5 billion
Worldwide arms sales in 2008 dropped by 7.6 percent
The U.S. in 2008 signed 70.1 percent of all weapons sales to developing countries
The United Arab Emirates in 2008 bought $9.7 billion worth of arms
